Tangkoko National Park is a nature reserve in the northern part of Sulawesi, about 2 hours drive from Manado the capital. The park counts 9000 hectares of lowland rainforest with the most common trees like Palaquium genus, Cananga odorata and Dracontomelon dao. The park has at least 127 mammal, 233 kind of birds and 104 types of reptiles and amphibian species.
Trekking within the park you will encounter Celebes crested macaque, spectral tarsier, Sulawesi bear cuscus and Sulawesi dwarf cuscus and hornbill.

DAY 01: Manado Airport – Tangkoko Nature Park
If time permit, you can even stop at Waruga Sawangan, a collection of unique achestor graves. Light lunch on the way, and upon arrival at Batu Putih Village (a village on the outskirt og Tangkoko NP) check in at your accommodation and rest for a while. You will trek into the jungle together with local ranger in search of the Black Crested Macaque (Black Monkey indigenous to North Sulawesi), hornbills, and couscous as well as other fauna specific to the reserve. Depending on what time it gets dark, we will head into the denser part of the jungle as the sun is setting, where you will be able to get photographs of the Tarsius Tarsier (one of the smallest known primates).Return to your accomodation by the village when it is completely dark.
DAY 02: Tangkoko National Park (Starting 04.30)
Today you will wake up early and start to walk into Tangkoko national park, with your guide and your ranger. This morning you will have the opportunity to see more birds and certainly the Black Crested Macaque as these monkeys are earlier risers and are searching out food along the coastline at Tangkoko. You will probably walk deep into the jungle of this amazing natural park. You will return to your accomodation in time for the late breakfast.
Rest of the day you can use for having more rest or exploring the village of Batu putih.

If you are an eager trekker and you still want to explore the forest, in the afternoon till the evening you can go into the forest, perhaps this time to see the Tarantulla spider?
DAY 03: Tangkoko – Your Next destination
After breakfast, we will say good bye to our local host and the ranger there. Drive back to Manado on about two hours trip, then depending on your next destination, we will take you to your connection trip. End of the tour program.
