Lake Sentani Festival

Lake Sentani Festival usually take place at the 3rd weeks of June. In 2015, it held on 19 – 23 June with a theme of “My Cultural , My Life”. This event was held at Kalkote area, in the east of Lake Sentani.

19 participating sub districts will offer a wide range of cultural performances, exhibitions and culinary feasts. There will be a parade of various ethnic groups in Papua and from around Indonesia. All kind of dancing will be performed by different ethnic groups, Including Isilo, a traditional dance on boats, using folk music and folk-tales. fierce competitions will take place to win boat-racing for men, boat-racing for women, musical competitions on drums and pipes, with songs from various parts of the region
